Tips for replies and replying
- @username replies will appear to all of your
followers.
- @username replies are viewable on public
profiles and in message archives
- @ username replies containing contextual "in
reply to" links to protected profiles require log in; only
logged-in followers will be able to view the original post of a
protected person, even if your @reply is public and
unprotected.
@username replies must use the user name (located in the profile
URL) and not the real name to appear in the original person's
replies tab.
- (For example, when replying to Carol, you'd want to make
sure to use her username, @i_heart_pigtown, rather than, @carol, in
order for your reply to appear in her Replies tab.)
@ username replies will only appear in the Replies tab if the
"@username" begins the update. This means twitters written in this
format appear under al3x's
Replies tab:
@al3x taro chips are so good,
and so very good for you!
While twitters written in
this format will not appear in the Replies tab:
I love taro chips! @al3x
they're good, & good for you!
Twitters with '@al3x' in the body of the update will link back to
al3x's profile page. In addition, check out @replies that have been
sent to the public timeline in response to your twitters when you
log in and click the Replies tab from
your Twitter homepage.
